We’re a giving circle of RPCVs coming together to support women in Mali and to celebrate our collective impact.

Every day, thousands of women across Bamako gather to share their resources. We’re going to join them !

What is a giving circle? Great question!

What is a giving circle?

A giving circle is a collective of individuals who come together to pool their resources and make a difference on a chosen cause. It’s a way to participate in philanthropy as a part of a community and it’s part of a long tradition known as collective giving.

Learn more at this site, created by our friends at Philanthropy Together!

Why is Mali Health doing this?

As a grassroots organization, we have always relied on community and people-power – and we need you now more than ever. So, like the women we work with, we’re gathering our community, because we’re stronger together.

Join us to strenghten and expand the ties within our Mali Health community!

Why should I join?

By joining our giving circle, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Make a meaningful difference: your contribution will go directly to women working to improve health and wellbeing for their families, communities, and each other.

Learn and connect directly: you’ll hear from women working on these issues firsthand, learning from their experiences and how they’re working with women in their communities to overcome challenges.

Connect with like-minded individuals: The circle is a network of people who share your passion for making a difference – come build relationships!

Amplify your impact: Pooling your resources with others will achieve greater impact  – that is the beauty of collective giving.

Plus, it will be fun!

So grab a friend and join us!

Ready to make a difference? Join our giving circle today!

Our circle will meet over the course of three informative, engaging, efficient, and fun meetings (see details below)!

It’s a great way to connect with friends, colleagues, or make it a family event!

The suggested minimum donation is $100, but all are welcome to join no matter the size of your contribution.
Every gift makes a difference  – come join us to learn just how much!

During a savings group meeting, the group's treasurer collects and counts the contributions.

Our giving circle is inspired by the thousands of women in our savings groups who come together every day to pool their resources and make loans to their members. Women do not have access to formal financial services and these loans help them access vital resources, including nutritious food or soap for their children, paying for healthcare, or starting small income-generating activities.

Though they save small amounts – only about $0.25 at each meeting – together their impact is extraordinary.

Last year, they saved about $70,000.

Here are a few of those extraordinary women (join us to meet some more!) :

Meet
Sokona

<< We are all women. We all help each other. >>

Sokona has long been a leader in her community, but leading her savings group is one of the most important roles she plays.

Meet Korotoumou

Korotoumou is a mother of five from Kalabambougou and the treasurer of her savings group. Learn more about how her group helps her meet her children’s needs.
